SKIRTED HERONS
Scheduled for completion and installation in 2027
Public Art commissioned by Concord Pacific for the Barker and Olive development in Burnaby, BC, Canada. Three, free standing, 9 foot high figures. Half bird and half human these hybrids speak to the body as both architecture and nature . Fanciful, and brawny they have extended dye sublimated torsos, cast bronze legs and skirts. The sculptures speak to the balancing act between personal and public space - - the urbanity of our communities and the foothold we have in both our natural and our manmade environments. Considerations of our shifting personal, social and natural ecologies.
