| After working for many years in glass (Chez les soeurs blanches - 1980). Lemieux in the 90's started working with neoprene rubber (Deux Tuniques - 1990) In the early 2000's Lemieux starts using a different type of rubber- natural latex ,a material that is less heavy than neoprene but just as, if not more flexible than neoprene. From 2003 to 2007 it is the quality of impermanence that attracts Lemieux to latex. The scans (Skinslips series from 2003 -2005) are digital drawings about and witnesses to, the process of deterioration. Other drawings from 1988 onward, are watercolour, pencil, ink or gouache on paper. |
